It always dazzles me, the countability(!) of our summers. we had so few that we can remember, but still we are all so used to them.
before summer its always spring..
And
the awakening of Nature with the coming of Spring, birds chirping, the irressistable lightness of going out with a bare t-shirt.
spring…
comes every year
for those who wait.

Yes, the time has come. My mid-term exams starting next week, still have a lot to do on the Press-Analyse project for the German class, I probably will have difficulty breathing. =) Even if I have fourteen classes to pass this semester (the bill of the past year i lived absent-minded) and can only sleep like four hours a day (at max!), my happiness comes naturally: Not a single problem in my life, my significant one arriving wednesday morning, “It’s good to be Yücel” =)
aaand we have Obama here in Istanbul!
also Here’s the song for today, (not that i can stray away from Ziggurat, yesterdays song) which has a very nice Beatles tune to it.
The Troubadours - Surrender
Peter Adams - Ziggurat

“I Woke With Planets In My Face is a modern classic…timeless in nature, dreamy and slightly surreal” - Babysue
My latest find. I only have this track, which is very promising, and keeping me looking for more. It actually does beg for multiple listens. Also this small picture transforms into a full-size wallpaper when you click here.
Seems like we dont need Disqus anymore =) (just finish your post with a question mark, and check the “Let people answer this” box that appears at the right side.)
What do you say, zuzu?

Now, I see that “It’s Blitz” (apart from many praise) got some bad critics, especially from fans. Well, maybe because as Hermann Hesse says, things which are not a part of you, does not bother you. I never had a blind love for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and actually YYY songs can be divided into four groups for me. I like to call the first group as “Hits” (not so inventive, huh?) which I love the moment I hear them, and put them in loop for days, like Y-Control and Cheated Hearts, which I slowly get tired of, and likely to skip on my iPod after, say, months. They still remain as Classics that are sometimes listened to. It’s not like I’ve been listening to “It’s Blitz” for ages, but it seems to me that Zero will be an addition to this group. The second group is the more depressing ones like Maps and Diamond Sea cover and Modern Romance, the ones that “get to me”. They break my heart a little, you know, I’m a guy that can cry over dramas, whether they’re mine or not. These certainly don’t get looped, but more likely to have stable places on mix-tapes and playlists. The “It’s Blitz” contribution to this group is, without doubt, Runaway. Isn’t it just great? The third group is songs that I find weird (or different) at first, but they grow on me, and become all-time favourites, like “Pin” and “Down Boy”. Well I can’t add anything to this group from the last album, because it’s too early, and I honestly have no idea yet. And the last group is YYY songs, I just can’t get familiar with, and never pay attention to. Namely, Tick (which has a star rating of 2 on my Songbird & iPod) and Phenomena. Dragon Queen and Shame and Fortune is likely to get in that group, not so sure yet.
So, Is it just another Yeah Yeah Yeah’s album? Well, its not, and I’m not the first person to say so. The thing I know, I wouldn’t like it better if it was. I was a teenager when YYY was doing garage-like music, and that appealed to me. I was a bit frightened to get the feeling that i am getting old for this stuff. Know what? Karen grew up too, and it’s great. It’s not bad to grow up. It actually IS weird when you are getting older, but still pretend you are 18 (Blondie, anyone?). Nevertheless, we will always have something to sing about, Maybe a little less noisy, but still as expressive as before.
So, sorry kids, cause Yeah Yeah Yeahs is a band of “My Time”, which I hopefully will grow up (and old) with. Find yourself another teenage band with distorted guitar sounds and a screaming girl using bad words.
Peace. =)
Arizona - Splintering
that song was in the free album you can still get here. The songs were generally “bah”, but this one became a favourite. I loved the track, and searched for the group for more of them, but didnt like the their other tracks much. Its kinda annoying. =/
